John began his career as a sales representative for Samaritan Health Plan, which later became Health Partners and was absorbed by United Healthcare. After five years of learning the benefits market from these insurance companies, John founded Arizona Benefits Group in 1998 to provide extensive benefits plans to Arizona-based medical practices and facilities. He and his team now work with dozens of insurance companies to provide medical industry businesses with benefits packages that can include health insurance, dental, life, vision, disability, and voluntary worksite plans.
After spending his younger years in North Phoenix and attending Shadow Mountain High School, John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
During their free time, John and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors in the White Mountains, traveling to Austin, Texas, to see their eldest daughters, who work for Dell Technologies and the University of Texas, and to New York City to visit their youngest daughter, who works for Columbia University. Fortunately for the travel budget, their son followed his father into the insurance industry and has become a valuable member of the Arizona Benefits Group team.
How are you helping the medical community?
By focusing on the medical community’s needs during the last two decades, I have a unique understanding that one size does not fit all when it comes to benefits. Offering robust benefits, HR services, and keeping a keen eye on the budget requirements of our clients is just the tip of the iceberg. Educating employees on their benefit choices and being there throughout the year to answer any questions or assist with any issue that may arise is the key to a benefit plan that works for the company and its employees.
Who do you serve?
We work with employers and HR managers in the medical field along with their staff.
